Comedy Short Contest

We're looking for the hottest, yet-to-be-discovered young comedy filmmakers! Finalists will have their screenplays reviewed by a panel of renowned industry judges representing some of the most respected talent agencies, management and production companies in the world of entertainment.

How to Submit:
  1. UPLOAD YOUR VIDEO TO A MYSPACE PAGE (must be MYSPACE, not other video service or social networking service)
  2. Email internet link to film's MYSPACEpage to short comedy film to filmsubmissions@dccomedyfest.com with the subject heading "OFFICIAL SUBMISSION EMAIL: {NAME OF ARTIST AND NAME OF FILM}. ALL FILMS MUST BE NO LONGER THAN 8 MINUTES.
    1. Must be received by JULY 10, 2008
    2. Professional resume of individual or group up to one page in length
    3. Contact information including the name of the act or production company, email address, home/mobile phone numbers, mailing address
  3. Additional Submission Requirements:
    1. The film, its script and underlying elements must be original, written and owned by submitting party/parties.
    2. The film and its screenplay and related elements cannot currently be under exclusive contract to distributor, network, online video portal or similar.

WINNER of Judge's Award AND On-Line Audience Award WILL RECEIVE airing of his/her short on dccomedyfest website, airing in high profile position on industry leading video portal, before selected shows and high profile dccf venues and $250.

The dccomedyfest is thrilled to announce its first ever COMEDY SCREENPLAY CHALLENGE.

We're looking for the hottest, yet-to-be-discovered young comedy writers! Finalists will have their MOVIE SCREENPLAYS OR TELEVISION PILOT TELEPLAYS reviewed by a panel of renowned industry judges representing some of the most respected talent agencies, management and production companies in the world of entertainment.

How to Submit:

  1. EMAIL a summary of your screenplay and main characters NO LONGER THAN ONE PAGE along with a sample scene UP TO THREE PAGES LONG to screenplays@dccomedyfest.com. Please include your resume and contact information in the email.
    1. Must be received by JULY 10, 2008.
    2. Professional resume of individual or group up to one page in length.
    3. Contact information including the name of the writers, email address, home/mobile phone numbers, mailing address.
  2. Additional Submission Requirements:
    1. Screenplay must be totally original, written and owned by submitting party/parties.
    2. Screenwriter and screenplay cannot currently be represented by agent, manager, production company or similar.

WINNER IN BOTH THE SCREENPLAY AND TELEPLAY CATEGORIES WILL RECEIVE staged reading of two scenes from his/her screenplay for industry audience at dccomedyfest, trip to dccomedyfest 2008 and 3 month representation of the project by Rain Management Group.
